The Island Quilter - My friends and I were so delighted to find this place while on vacation in Vashon Island, Washington. Favorite phrase of the day - "I think I want to hump this fabric." And no, it wasn't me.
Have a happy inspired weekend!
Life at the intersection of making with your hands and feeling with your heart
Sometimes I let myself get caught up in the anxiety and frustration side of being an #interfaith family - how to balance our differing traditions, attachments, and fears. This little guy helps me remember how much joy and wonder there is in expanding our hearts and our home to hold more than one way of celebrating light in the darkness.
Please don’t ever stop wanting to sit on my lap and be read to. 🙏
My Cajun mama called these “poor man’s beignets” when I was growing up - canned biscuits quartered and fried in oil, then topped with powdered sugar. I call them delicious. Plus, they’re the perfect melding of my childhood traditions with the *requirement* to eat fried donuts during Chanukah. #interfaith
Lighting the candles at Chanukah is one of my very favorite parts of having an #interfaith family. #chanukah
